Before you begin importing data from Wisenet to MYOB AccountsRight, ensure you have the MYOB AccountsRight desktop app and the correct user roles to set up new GL accounts and import journal entries. Testing in a sandbox environment, like Clearwater, is recommended before importing data into the live system to familiarise yourself with the process.
Setting Up Wisenet Control Accounts in MYOB AccountsRight
For integration to work smoothly, you’ll need to ensure the control accounts are set up accurately. MYOB requires specific GL account numbers based on account type:
- 1 for Assets
- 2 for Liabilities
- 3 for Equity
- 4 for Income
- 5 for Cost of Sales
- 6 for Expenses
- etc
For each control account, create a Detail Account without any spaces or dashes (e.g., “11701” instead of “1-1701”) and transfer the GL account details to Wisenet > Settings > Reporting page.
Supported MYOB Tax Codes
Wisenet supports a subset of MYOB’s default tax codes. Ensure that your data uses only the following codes for proper integration:
- N-T: GST Free (AU) / N-T: No Tax (NZ)
- GST: Goods & Services Tax (AU) / S15: GST at 15% (NZ)
- FRE: GST Free (AU) / Z: Zero-Rated (NZ)

- Testing Environment: Always test the import in a sandbox or test company file before the final live import to prevent any issues with your primary financial data.
Following these steps ensures your Wisenet financial data integrates correctly with MYOB AccountsRight, providing accurate journal entries in your accounting system.
