How To Add a Course Offer

The process for setting up a Course Offer is essentially the same regardless of what type of Course Offer you are setting up. However, the fields that you complete will vary.

Before you begin:

Required Knowledge: Course Offer

Required LRM Access: Admin

Required Pre-Steps: Course, Units and Course Types

1

Navigate to LRM > Offers
  1. Click “Add Course Offer”

2

Name and Add Course Offer

Best Practice:

A Course Offer should be set for the duration of a calendar year or per contract period.

This is because the start and the end dates of the Course Offer do not directly impact the Learner. They are used as defaults and can be modified per Course Enrolment as required for each Learner. It is the individual Enrolment Dates that are reported per Learner.

  1. Open the Course that you wish to create a Course Offer from
  2. On the Left Navigation Bar, click Offers
  3. When the Offers page opens, click Action and Select Add
  4. Enter a Course Offer Code and Description
    • This is extremely important in order to easily identify information about your Course Offer and the groups of Learners you would enrol in each.
    • The Course Offer Code and Description should be meaningful for your organisation and help you easily identify different groups of students.
    • The Description may be in upper or lower case or a combination of the two. Some exports will produce a report in upper case only.
    • We recommend that you establish internal guidelines for your Course Offer Codes and Descriptions. Here are some recommendations that may assist you in developing these:
Course Offer CodeThe code can be a maximum of 10 alphanumeric characters, we recommend that it include:

  • Year the Course Offer Code commenced (eg. 12 for ‘2012’, 13 for ‘2013’)
  • State abbreviation (use first initial, eg. ‘N’ for NSW, ‘V’ for Victoria, etc)
  • Course name abbreviation
  • Whether group is funded or not
  • If Fixed date, when the group will commence (eg. T1 for Term 1, S1 for Semester 1, 04 for April etc)
Course Offer DescriptionWe recommend that the description contain the same information in the course code and any additional information that would useful for internal reporting purposes such as:

  • Campus / Delivery site details (if you have multiple delivery sites)
  • Workplace name (if the course offer is for a workplace) or public
  • Course Site ID for NSW funded training

For Qld and WA Course Offers

If you mostly do workplace based training, you may wish to also add the funding region
