How To Add, Edit or Delete Unit Groups

The Unit Group function allows you to group Units together and then produce reports on these groupings. Unit Groups are often used to:

  • To indicate Skill Sets
  • Short Courses
  • When you deliver and assessor units together
  • To group mandatory or core units together
Before you begin:

Required Knowledge: Course Offers, Unit Offers, Short Courses

Required LRM Access: Admin

Required Pre-Steps: Add Unit Offer

Simple or Advance Mode

Choose appropriate Mode for Unit Groups

Simple ModeOnly allows you to add a Unit Offer to one Unit Group
Advanced ModeAllows you to add a Unit Offer to one or more Unit Groups

By default your database will be set to Simple Mode. To activate Advanced Mode your portal administrator must switch this on:

  1. In the Wisenet Portal >My Account >Show Settings
  2. Under the heading >Advanced Unit Grouping
  3. Click edit, tick the checkbox
  4.  Save

Add Unit Groups

 

  1. Search the Course Offer
  2. Left Navigation Bar, click Unit Offers then Unit Groups
  3. Click  Add Unit Groups
  4. Enter a code and name for your Unit Group
  5. Select the Units you wish to add to the group e.g. First Aid and CPR
  6. Click Save
  7. Repeat until you have added all your groups (note you do not have to group all unit offers)

Once you have added a Unit Group, you can also copy it and the Unit Offers associated with.

Edit Unit Groups
  1. Open the relevant Course Offer
  2. In the Left Menu, click Unit Offers
  3. Click the Unit Group
  4. Click Edit for the Unit Group that you wish to edit
  5. Enter the new details
  6. Save

Delete Unit Offer/s from a Unit Group
  1. Open the relevant Course Offer
  2. In the Left Navigation Bar, click Unit Offers
  3. Click the Unit Group tab
  4. Click the Unit Group that you wish to remove the Unit Offer/s from
  5. Select the Unit Offer/s that you wish to remove
  6. In the Action menu, select Remove selected Unit Offers from the Unit Group
  7. The Unit Offer will be removed from the Unit Group and will now be ‘ungrouped’Note If you remove all Unit Offers from the Unit Group, the Unit Group will be deleted

Move Unit Offer from one Unit Group to another
  1. Remove the Unit Offer/s from the incorrect Unit Group (see instructions above)
  2. Click Ungrouped Unit Offers
  3. Select the Unit Offer/s
  4. In the Action Menu, select Add to existing Unit Offer or Add to new Unit Offer as applicable
  5. Save
