How To Copy Unit Offer

You may wish to add multiple instances of a Unit Offer to a Course Offer – this is often referred to as Copying a Unit Offer.

Typically, this is done because:

  1. You are setting up a Short Course Offer and do not wish to create a Course Offer from scratch for each delivery instance
  2. You group Units and offer the same Unit in different elective Unit Groupings (this also applies to Units of Study)
  3. You have Learners that need to re-do a Unit Offer as part of the same Course Offer Enrolment

The process is very similar to importing a Unit.

Before you begin:

Required Knowledge: Unit Offers

Required LRM Access: Admin

Required Pre-Steps: Add Unit Offers

1

2

Copy Units
  1. Open the Course Offer
  2. In the Left Navigation Bar, click Unit Offers
  3. Go to the Select menu to the right of the Unit you wish to copy Action and Copy Unit Offer
  4. Edit the details as applicable
  5. Save
  6. The Unit will now be added as a Unit Offer to the Course Offer
  7. Repeat these step for all the copies you wish to create.
  • It is recommended that you modify the Unit Offer Code to make it easy when enrolling the students to identify the relevant unit offer see suggested Unit Offer Code Modifications
  1. Open the relevant Course Offer
  2. On the Left Navigation Bar, Click Unit Offers
  3. Click Unit Groups
  4. Select and Copy Unit Group
  5. By default, the Unit Group Code will have the words ‘Copy of‘ appear prior to the code name.  Click in the Code box and edit.
  6. Check details and Save

Note: View Suggested Unit Offer Code Modifications for naming conventions of Unit Offers.

When you copy a Unit of Study (UoS) all the Unit Offers associated with that Unit of Competency (UoC) will also be duplicated. The product was designed this way because:

  • It has to be like that for Simple Mode
  • The most normal use case for copying a UoS is for a separate intake which will have separate dates, therefor a separate unit offer makes sense.
  1. Open the relevant Course Offer
  2. On the Left Navigation Bar, click Unit Offers
  3. Click  Units of Study
  4. In the Select dropdown Copy Unit of Study
  5. By default, the UoC code will have the words ‘Copy of ‘ appear prior to the code name . Click into the Code and edit.
  6. Save
