Automatic Linking allows you to link an Elearning course to a Wisenet Course Offer/Unit Offer as soon as the Elearning course is created.
You can then choose to automatically create a Learner’s enrolment in the Elearning platform once the Learner has been enrolled into the linked Wisenet Course Offer/Unit Offer.

Before you begin
- Set up the Elearning integration.
- Set Up Elearning Enrolment Rules in Wisenet
- Create the Course Offers and Unit Offers in Wisenet

Set up Automatic Linking
- Automatic Linking will apply to all your Elearning courses.
- For Automatic Linking to work, the Wisenet Offer must be created BEFORE the Elearning course.
- If the Elearning course was created first, see How to Quick Link Elearning courses to Wisenet Offers
- Automatic Linking does NOT support Grouping. If you want to create Groups/Sections in the Elearning application, do this after it has been linked to the Wisenet Offer.
- Navigate to LRM > Settings > Wisenet Marketplace (under Integration) > [Elearning application]
- Set the toggle Use Automatic Linking to YES.
- Choose to link the Elearning courses to:
- Course Offer
- Unit Offer
- Course Offer and/or Unit Offer (not available for Canvas)
- Choose to link the Elearning Course by the:
- Elearning Course Code, or
- External Reference (see note below)
- Choose to link the Elearning courses via the Offer Code, or the Offer Code plus a static suffix. If you choose:
- Offer Code
- E.g. Elearning Course Code / External Reference = PREP1 will be linked to the Wisenet Offer with code PREP1.
- Offer Code plus a static suffix
- E.g. Elearning Course Code / External Reference = PREP1CAN, Static Suffix = CAN –> will be linked to the Wisenet Offer with code PREP1.
- Offer Code
- Set the Elearning Enrolment method to manual or automatic.
- If automatic, choose the Elearning Enrolment rule.
- (Optional) set the Use Automatic Enrolment toggle to YES (see next step)
- Click Save.
To enable automatic enrolment, you must:
- Set up an Elearning Enrolment rule
- Set Elearning Enrolment method to automatic
- Set Use Automatic Enrolment to Yes.
Linking the Elearning Course by Course Code or External Reference:
Brightspace
- Elearning Course Code = Brightspace Code
- Elearning External reference = Brightspace Code
Janison
- Elearning Course Code = Janison Identifier
- Elearning External reference = Janison Identifier
Canvas
- Elearning Course Code = Canvas Course SIS ID
- Elearning External reference = Canvas Course SIS ID
Moodle
- Elearning Course Code = Moodle Course Short Name
- Elearning External reference = Moodle Id Number
Please note for Brightspace, Janison and Canvas, there is currently only one field that can link to the Wisenet Course Offer/Unit Offer.

How Automatic Enrolment works
Once Auto Linking has occurred, if any offer is found, Wisenet uses the Elearning Enrolment rule to automatically create the Elearning Enrolments in the Elearning application for all enrolments under that Offer. The timing of the Elearning enrolment creation depends on the logic in the Elearning Enrolment rule.

If you created your Elearning course first
If you created the Elearning course before the Wisenet Course Offer / Unit Offer so it didn’t automatically link, you can quick link your courses.
Edit Options
You can always add more Enrolments and/or Edit the Elearning Courses at a later stage. However, please note:
- Elearning Type cannot be edited if there are linked Elearning Enrolments
- Editing Defaults will not auto update linked Elearning Enrolments
Delete Option
You can delete a linked Elearning course but please note:
- Both the Elearning Course and the linked Elearning Enrolments will be permanently deleted in Wisenet
- Elearning Enrolments within your Elearning application will be disabled and set to Inactive.
