  1. Navigate to LRM > Settings > Connected Apps > Canvas.
  2. Switch the toggle “Use Automatic Linking?” to YES.
  3. Choose whether to link the Canvas courses to Course Offer or to Unit Offer.
    • PLEASE NOTE: This will apply to all your Canvas courses.
  4. Choose whether to link Canvas courses via the Offer Code, or the Offer Code plus a static suffix. If you choose:
    • Offer Code
      •  E.g. Canvas Course SIS ID = PREP1 will be linked to the Wisenet Offer with code PREP1.
    • Offer Code plus a static suffix
      • E.g. Canvas Course SIS ID = PREP1CAN, Static Suffix = CAN –> will be linked to the Wisenet Offer with code PREP1.
  5. Choose whether the default Elearning Enrolment method will be manual or automatic.
  6. Optional: If you choose to automatically enrol your learners into elearning offers, then switch the toggle “Use Automatic Enrolment?” to YES.
  7. Click Save.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • For the Automatic Linking to work, the Canvas Course SIS ID must match the Course Offer Code/Unit Offer Code depending on your settings.
  • Automatic Linking does NOT support Grouping. If you want to create Sections in Canvas, then edit the elearning course offer after it has been linked to the Wisenet offer to update the Group field.
  • For Automatic Linking to work, the Wisenet Offer must be created BEFORE the Canvas course.
    • If the Canvas course was created first, see how to manually link the offers in next step
  • The auto-enrol feature works only if auto-linking setting is set to YES.
  • If you are using the auto-enrol feature and wish to restrict the enrolments based on outcomes or enrolment status, then the auto-enrol feature will enrol the learners based on the following logic set in the elearning enrolment rules:
    1. If the unit offers are mapped to the Canvas Courses, then in the elearning enrolment rule:
      1. Toggle this option ON – Only when Unit Enrolment has commenced (based on Outcome Codes)
      2. When option is turned ON, it will check and enrol Unit Enrolments that have commenced based on the following Outcomes:
        • Australia: Commenced if Outcome = 05, 70 or 99
        • New Zealand: Commenced if Outcome = 0, 1, 5, 6 or 7
    2. If the course offers are mapped to the Canvas Courses, then in the elearning enrolment rule:
      1. Toggle this ON – Only when Course Enrolment has commenced (based on Enrolment Status)
      2. When option is turned ON, it will check Course Enrolments that have commenced based on the following Enrolment Statuses:
        • Current
        • Pending
