How To Set Up eCAF Integration

eCAF Integration allows RTOs  to send Course Enrolment information directly from Wisenet to eCAF and be informed when a Learner ‘completes’ this process; making eCAF easy and automated. This allows you to perform most or all of your eCAF requirements from Wisenet. The eCAF process can be separated into 3 main stages:

Send enrolment to eCAF

  • The information required for eCAF is generated from Wisenet. This means you save time by not entering this information into eCAF manually.
  • All you will need is your username and password specifically for API access (the format is ####ecafapi)
  • You can view the status either in eCAF or directly from Wisenet.

1

Set Up API Integration
  1. Email HEenquiries@education.gov.au and ask for a form to complete the API integration with a Student Management System

Note

Unauthorised access is due to incorrect or expired password.

Passwords expire every 90 days. To reset the password you need to ensure that you login to the eCAF website with the API username (Eg. ####eCAFAPI) and not your day-to-day eCAF username. Once password is updated go back to settings in LRM and update the password.

2

Add Details to Wisenet
  1. Navigate to your LRM > Settings
  2. Under the App Settings widget click LRM
  3. Scroll to the eCAF section
  4. Enter in eCAF Password and eCAF Username
  5. Save

Your username is sent to you by eCAF. It typically looks like ####eCAFAPI where #### is your provider code.

Passwords expire every 90 days. To reset the password you need to ensure that you login to the ecaf website with the API username and not your day-to-day ecaf username. Once password is updated go back to settings in Portal and update the password.
