Go through the setup and install the ODBC driver on your PC.

Open ODBC data sources from your PC from the start menu.

You will see the ODBC Data Source window. Go to the System DSN tab and click Add.

Select Simba Athena ODBC Driver.

Enter details in the window as shown below.
Note: Schema and Workgroup values will be provided in the note sent by Wisenet support staff, or the Schema will be your Wisenet code and your workgroup will be datawarehouse-yourcodehere. (You can call your Data Source Name anything you want. It will show up as this in PowerBI.)

Once completed, click on the Authentication Options shown in the screenshot in Step 6.

Enter the key and value in the username and password fields, and also choose IAM credentials in the Authentication Type.

Click Ok to save the source and exit.

Start the PowerBI desktop app on your PC and start a new report.

Click on Get data from another source.

From the list look up and select Amazon Athena.

Enter the details as shown and click ok (unless you defined a different Data Source Name in Step 6. If so, put that under the DSN field).

Once you’ve clicked OK, the AmazonAthena pop-up window will appear (refer to the screenshot). Make sure to click on the top option Use Data Source Configuration, then press Connect (If you don’t, you will have to start again using a different Data Source Name)

You will be presented with a Navigator window. Expand the database and select relevant datasets to explore them further in PowerBI.

Click the tables you would like to work with and click load.
Note: Wait a little while. If it’s not working, it could be the firewall from your internet. Try to connect via a hotspot to fix it.

Once the table has loaded successfully, click on the columns on the right side to open them.
