How To Add a Unit to a Course

Adding a Unit to a Course (or a Course to a Unit) creates a CourseUnit. This is the connection between the Course and the Unit.

The CourseUnit has Unit information specific to the Unit underneath that particular Course.

The CourseUnit details are the Unit details that are specific to the Unit for that particular Course. They will default to the Unit values. You can adjust them if you wish.

Add Existing Unit to Course

  1. Navigate to LRM > Scope > Selected Course > Units
  2. Click Add Unit
  3. Select a Unit from the dropdown
  4. Click Add
  5. This adds the Unit to the Course by creating a CourseUnit.
  6. The CourseUnit Details page will open in a new tab
  7. Open the CourseUnit Details page to adjust the details.

Create new Unit and add to the Course

  1. Navigate to LRM > Scope > Selected Course > Units
  2. Click Add Unit
  3. Set the Add Existing Unit toggle to NO
  4. The Add new Unit page opens.
  5. Enter new Unit details
  6. Click Save
  7. The Unit is created and a CourseUnit is created, linking the Unit to the Course.

Add a Course to a Unit

This is the same as Step 1 (add a Unit to a Course) except done from a different section in LRM.

  1. Navigate to LRM > Scope > Selected Unit > Courses
  2. Click Add Course
  3. Select a Course from the dropdown.
  4. Click Add
  5. This adds the Course to the Unit by creating a CourseUnit.
  6. The CourseUnit Details page opens.
  7. Adjust the CourseUnit details if needed.
