Upcoming Important Update: Unit Offer Unification & Improved Workflows

Published by: 0

Education doesn’t happen in neat boxes.

In the real world, learners from different courses study the same units. Intakes overlap. Resits happen. Trainers teach across programs. Units are shared, reused, and delivered together.

Over time, many of you have told us that while Wisenet reflects formal structures well, it hasn’t always reflected how delivery actually works day to day. That gap has created duplication, extra admin, and complexity where there shouldn’t be any.

We’ve been listening. We’ve been learning. And we’ve been deliberately planning how to make this better, without breaking what already works.

Why this matters

This work isn’t about changing terminology or redesigning screens.

It’s about bringing Wisenet closer to real-world delivery, so managing enrolments, teaching, reporting, and scaling feels clearer, simpler, and more connected over time.

Introducing: Unit Offer Unification

Unit Offer Unification is a foundational project designed to simplify how units are structured, shared, and managed across course offers, while giving you more flexibility where it actually matters.

At its core, it removes unnecessary duplication and allows unit delivery to be managed in a way that mirrors how education is really delivered.

What’s changing

At the core of this update is a shift to a simpler, more flexible Unit Offer model.

  • Unit Offers will be able to be shared across multiple Course Offers
  • Unit Groups will be retired and replaced with a unified structure
  • Unit hierarchies will be managed through clear parent-child relationships

This reduces duplication and better reflects how delivery works in practice.

Modernised workflows and pages

Alongside these structural improvements, we are updating a number of key areas across Wisenet to improve usability and consistency.

  • Managing units and structure
    • A clearer way to organise units using parent-child relationships
    • A more consistent experience when viewing and managing Units of Study
  • Setting up and managing Course Offers and Unit Offers
    • Improved create, copy, and management flows
    • A more consistent way to manage Unit Offers within a Course Offer
    • Reduced duplication when working across multiple Course Offers
  • Enrolling learners

      • Course Offers
      • Enrolment workflows

  • Managing Unit Enrolments
    • A simpler and more consistent way to:
      • Add Unit Enrolments

      • Course Enrolments
      • Unit Offers
      • Learner records
  • Bulk updates and actions
    • More efficient bulk actions for managing Unit of Study enrolments
    • Reduced need to repeat the same action in different parts of the system
  • Elearning integration improvements
    • Ability to link Elearning Courses directly to standalone Unit Offers
    • View all related Elearning offers directly within a Unit Offer
    • A more connected experience between delivery, enrolment, and learning content

What this means for you

This is a significant structural improvement, but the core workflows you rely on will remain familiar.

Setting up courses, enrolling learners, and managing delivery will continue to follow the same intent with improvements that reduce complexity and better support how you work day to day.

  • Some customers will see minimal impact
  • Customers using Unit Groups or Units of Study may need to adjust how their structure is set up

Our team will work closely with impacted customers to guide this transition.
